<strong>more than \u00a5200 million from your own company to fund that support<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes, this sounds like the plot of an especially unhinged anime episode, but according to authorities, it actually happened in Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A 62-year-old man was arrested in Osaka after allegedly embezzling massive amounts of money from the company where he worked and using part of those funds for donations, tips, and digital gifts for female content creators during livestreams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And the financial hole reportedly became so massive that the company eventually went bankrupt.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pub-f326d70e7a38422993ce7cd305c22dfb.r2.dev\/2026\/10\/1-descarga-18.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83c\udfe6 He Basically Had the Keys to the Company\u2019s Bank Account<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The suspect, identified as <strong>Yoshinori Kikunou<\/strong>, worked in accounting for an industrial machinery company in <strong>Higashiosaka, Osaka<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And there was one particularly important detail about his job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was essentially the only person handling the company\u2019s accounting operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the investigation, he took advantage of that lack of oversight by finding a way to redirect company funds into his own bank account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Between March and September 2024, he allegedly made more than <strong>60 fraudulent transfers<\/strong>, inserting his personal banking information into batches of payments the company normally sent to its suppliers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In other words, he allegedly managed to hide his own transfers among legitimate business transactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One tiny change in the accounting system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More money disappearing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And apparently, nobody noticed until the hole had become enormous.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/HVST4DxWEAAOxmT?format=jpg&amp;name=large\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udcb4 More Than \u00a559 Million in Just Six Months<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over those six months, the man allegedly managed to take approximately <strong>\u00a559 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That would already be an enormous amount of money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the story gets even crazier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After company executives eventually discovered that a staggering amount of money was missing, they filed a criminal complaint with authorities in April 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By that point, however, the financial damage was reportedly too severe for the company to recover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The business eventually went bankrupt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes, an entire company reportedly collapsed after one of its employees allegedly used company funds to support his favorite streamers and pay for personal entertainment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83c\udf81 So Where Did All That Money Go?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is where the story takes an especially bizarre turn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After his arrest, the man reportedly admitted to the allegations and revealed that the amount taken from the company was actually much larger than investigators had initially uncovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to his statement, he had allegedly stolen <strong>more than \u00a5200 million since joining the company in 2020<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And where did a significant portion of that money allegedly go?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Donations, tips, and digital gifts for female content creators during livestreams.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also reportedly spent some of the money on personal entertainment and luxury expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So money that was supposed to remain inside a company&#8217;s accounts allegedly ended up Far<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Livestreaming platforms have completely changed the relationship between creators and their audiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, viewers can enter a livestream, send money, have their message highlighted on screen, and potentially get a direct response from the creator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For most viewers, that&#8217;s simply a way to support someone whose content they enjoy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The problem begins when that spending becomes an obsession and the money being used is far beyond what someone can actually afford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And this case may represent one of the most extreme examples imaginable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>He allegedly didn&#8217;t just spend too much. He allegedly spent money that wasn&#8217;t even his.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83e\udd2f From \u00a559 Million to More Than \u00a5200 Million<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the most shocking parts of the case is the gap between the amount initially uncovered and the amount the suspect reportedly confessed to taking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The transactions initially identified by investigators totaled around <strong>\u00a559 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But his own alleged between:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8220;I want to support my favorite streamer with a few dollars.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">and:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8220;I&#8217;m going to use millions of yen belonging to my employer to keep doing it.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At that point, we&#8217;re no longer talking about ordinary fandom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;re talking a small form of entertainment becomes a financial machine with absolutely no brakes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s what makes this case so unsettling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Supporting a creator can be fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Becoming one of their biggest supporters can feel exciting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>But if you need to empty your company&#8217;s bank account to do it, maybe it&#8217;s time to close the stream.<\/strong> \ud83d\udc80<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2
